5 THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU TRY TO CONVINCE YOUR PARENTS !

Convincing is one of the most sought skills , an individual requires both at the personal as well as professional level. To connect with your close ones (especially parents) and get to their heart is a hideous task.  It demands a lo and sometimes, even our relationship is at stake when there arises a communication gap or error in the convincing process. So, here are few ways to help you out hack the way!

1. NO ONE IS WRONG : Neither you nor your parents are wrong when it comes to taking important decisions related to your career, life partner or the path you choose. The difference is in the way you perceive things. Start by analyzing each others point of view, first. PERSPECTIVE MATTERS!

2. DO YOUR HOMEWORK : It is important to know every bit about the thing you are going to try to convince your parents for. Understand what you are looking for and your parents expectations with the proposal and devise maximum possible ways to tackle their questions. If possible, consult someone who has been in a similar case and ask for help, from the individual. RESEARCH MATTERS.

3. LOOK FOR SOLUTIONS : Change your perspective to that of your parents and look for the problems, expectations , errors etc., to understand their psychology towards the idea. Then, derive multiple solutions for each of the problem and go with the one that suits the best according to requirement and demand. BE ANSWERABLE.

4. ROI VALUE : Cost- Benefit analysis is always the best method to calculate Return-On-Investment (ROI) Value of any idea. Note down points both in favorite and against the idea and check out whether it makes sense to invest your time, money, energy etc., on the idea. BE STATISTICALLY SURE.

5. AVOID ARGUMENTS : Arguments can make the WORSE scenario turn WORST. The best way to avoid argument is to understand that "GOOD Proposals demand the BEST Time" and to split the persuasion process into parts. An idea is sometimes better conveyed when you handle it with extra care, allow extra time and deploy extra thoughts. DO NOT GET ON SOMEONE'S NERVES.

P.S: DON'T RAISE YOUR VOICE, IMPROVE YOUR ARGUMENT (Desmond Tutu).
